David, 24, developed Monkey Contact on Tigabytes

David

24 years, Germany

I spent four months working at Tigabytes as a programming intern. A new project was about to start and I was lucky to be part of the whole production cycle: Starting with meetings and rough sketches on the white board, bringing thoughts and documentation to paper, developing early prototypes, making and reviewing progress every week and eventually delivering a finished product was an exciting experience I not only took part in but was also a leading force behind it.

I worked closely with the project manager and the client together and learned how important and difficult communication between the different parties can be. The work was never boring and always challenged me to come up with new ideas and ways of thinking to solve the daily struggles.

Maybe the greatest thing about Tigabytes was the atmosphere in the office. It was relaxed, friendly, and we had always something to laugh about. I could take my lunch break whenever I wanted, and wear my rather worn-out but unbelievably comfy clothes for work (when I didn't have a meeting with a client, of course).

At the end of my internship I can say that I learned on many different levels. Not only am I more proficient in web and server technologies but I also improved important soft-skills such as presenting, communicating and working in teams. And damn, I had a lot of fun!
